Concept Map driven content repository developed by KMS,ICRISAT


The knowledge framework was created on top of various information repository, mainly over the VASAT learning materials, using concept maps. This knowledge framework, a meta-structure over the repository, facilitates reuse and repurpose of the content. This combined with the power of ontology is able to provide rich semantic into the underlying repository.

A Topic Map driven test website developed by KMS,ICRISAT

Topic Maps are the next generation of technologies that gives the ability to separate the information layer from knowledge layer. In this experiment, All the terms related to the five mandate crops of ICRISAT (Pigeonpea, Chickpea, Pearlmillet, Groundnut and Sorghum) are collected, classified and incorporated into a topic map using an open source software for creating and editing topic maps. The ontological relationships between different topics are defined using FAO's AGROVOC’s relationship legends. The topics are linked onto resources on VASAT’s learning resources repository.
